Time to rock: The members of Mayday posing for the photographers at the press conference. Mayday, the Taiwanese rock band, is again in town after more than a year’s absence with leader Monster and other members comprising Ashin, Stone, Masa and Ryan.
At a recent press conference held at the Zeta Bar, Hilton Kuala Lumpur, Monster assured everyone that Mayday was excited to be here to promote its latest album Jump Out of the Earth.
“A lot of people came to support us when we had an open air concert here last time. We hope to see the same devotion again,” said Stone.
Stone said that they, too, missed home but were eager to meet their fans around the world.
Throughout the press conference, the five members of the band were in sync and occasionally, they poked fun at each other and brought laughter to the press.
Their official fan club in Malaysia was formed recently and two fans were present to issue each of them a membership card.
Mayday also took the chance to introduce a newcomer to their record company, Ding Dang, who is said to have a 17-octave range.
Presented by Channel X, Mayday’s visit to Malaysia is the ninth stop in their world live promo tour, after Los Angeles, USA.
The meet-the-fans session was held in Penang on Sept 7, and another two will be held in Sungai Wang Plaza today, and Pending MBKS Stadium, Kuching on Sept 9.
